We got our first sheltie in 1979 when my daughter was only months old, they quickly became inseparable and for the following seventeen years he took care of our live stock and our daughter. If she was playing outside we only had to look for the dog to track her down and see what mischief they were up too. Since that time I've never considered owning another breed and it is my aim to do some good for these dogs so they continue to be available to others.
Hopefully there will always be shelties that will live to ripe old ages that herd kids and keep raccoons out of the chicken house. That chase sticks and wade streams with their charges and bark up a storm when danger threatens. For this is truly a courageous, loyal, happy and fun loving breed that I am thrilled to share my house with.
